This project was for an 11 storey 152 bedroom Travelodge hotel which is now one of their flagship sites. The scheme consists of an elliptical shaped glazed tower located on the corner of Stanhope Road with the main bedroom block to the south of the tower being reduced in height by one storey

The vehicular entrance to the site is via a shared entrance with Zurich House off of Stanhope Road, where there is a short ramp up to the ground floor where there are 26 car parking spaces, The main entrance is off Stanhope Road taking pedestrian customers into the entrance lobby, lifts and staircase. At ground floor level there is a linen intake room with access to the rear adjacent to the bin store.

The reception is at first floor level together with the Bar Café, kitchen, office and staff room. The Bar Café has been designed to have views over the park from the whole of the seating area, with Lounge seating available with views down Unicorn Road.

Each of the upper floors has 19 bedrooms consisting of 10no family rooms with bathrooms , 8no double rooms with showers and 1 no accessible room with wet room shower

The structural design of building is of steel frame with ribdeck concrete floors and infil framing.

The elliptical tower is clad clad in curtain walling with facetted glass panels of varying widths and tints. The main bedroom block elevations have a combination of non combustible stone composite cladding  with staggered windows.

The main entrance has two storey height of curtain wall with sliding glazed entrance doors and glazing at first floor from the lounge seating. The stone composite cladding is to continue through into the entrance lobby.
